New Parent Bingo
You checked that the baby was breathing three times in one night. A visitor woke the baby you had just settled. Tick every newborn moment you have lived through and see how many lines you get. Both parents can play.
If you are worried about your baby
This game is for fun and gives no medical advice. If you are ever worried about your baby's breathing, feeding or temperature, do not wait for a game or a group chat. Call your doctor or go to the nearest hospital.
How New Parent Bingo works
You get a grid of 25 squares. The dotted square in the middle is already ticked. Every other square is a newborn moment that parents in Nigeria and abroad know well. Tap each one that has happened to you, and any full row, column or diagonal counts as a line.
- Tap every square that has happened in your house.
- Watch the lines light up as you go.
- Tap See my result to get your band.
- Send the game to the other parent. They play on their own phone, then you compare.
What your result means
Your band counts how many of these moments you have lived. It says nothing about how well you parent. A high count means you have been in the newborn days. A low count means fewer of these squares have happened in your house.
Both parents can play. Tick the grid on separate phones, then compare in the chat. The squares one of you ticked and the other did not often start the best conversation of the week.
- Just landed: 0 to 6 squares tickedWe're still new at this.
- A few nights in: 7 to 12 squares tickedWe've lived a few of these.
- Deep in it: 13 to 18 squares tickedWe're deep in the newborn days.
- Seen it all: 19 to 24 squares tickedWe've lived almost all of it.
