Situationship Checker

Is it a relationship or a situationship? Answer six questions on labels, how steady he is, future talk and how he treats you. You get a read and the words to ask him where this is going.

The words you can use

Asking clearly is not desperate. It is self-respect. His answer, or his dodge, is your answer.

This is clarity. The checker turns what you already feel into plain words so you can decide with a clear head. It is not a verdict on him. It cannot predict what he will do. It runs entirely on this device, and nothing you answer is saved or sent anywhere.

How to use this

  1. Answer for what has actually happened over the last few weeks, and leave out your best day together.
  2. Tap Show my read for your result and a script you can adapt in your own words.
  3. Use the words outside an argument, and then listen to the full answer, including the silence.
  4. Decide from there. Clarity is the win, whichever way it goes.

Questions women ask

Isn't asking for a label going to scare him off?

Someone who wants you is not scared off by a question about where this is going. If a fair question ends it, it was already ending. You did not cause that by asking.

What if I like it undefined too?

Then that is a real answer, and this just helps you check that you chose it freely and did not settle to avoid a hard talk.

How long is too long without a label?

There is no universal number. Watch whether he is moving toward you or keeping you comfortable while he keeps his options open.

Is this private?

Yes. It runs on your device only. Nothing is stored once you close the tab.

How this checker works

It asks six questions and weighs them. Knowing which six tells you what it cannot see. The questions cover whether you have had the talk and named it, how steady he is week to week, whether he talks about the future with you in it, whether he treats you as his in public and online, whether the effort goes both ways, and how you feel most of the time.

Those six are the ones that separate an early relationship from a holding pattern. What the checker cannot see is his circumstances, your history together, or anything he has said that you have not counted. It does not judge him. It sorts what you already know into an order you can act on.

Nothing you tap is stored or sent. It runs on this device and forgets you the moment you close it.

How to read your result

You probably already know the answer in pieces: the missed plans, the vague replies, the weekends he goes quiet. This checker puts those pieces in one place and says the result plainly.

  • This is a situationship. It is months in and undefined, and the vagueness suits one of you. Read what a situationship is and decide before the next conversation what you will do if nothing changes.
  • It is undefined. Early and undefined is normal in a talking stage. It stops being normal somewhere past eight to twelve weeks of near-daily contact. See the talking stage.
  • This is going somewhere. He is steady, talks about the future and treats you as his. Asking for the label is a fair and easy ask.

What to do next

One conversation, with a decision made before you walk into it. Say what you want, ask what he wants, and know in advance what you will do if the answer is let us see how it goes, because that is not an answer.

Our Talk Planner walks through the conversation itself. The non-negotiables worksheet is where you decide the line before you are in the room.

Why these stay stuck

Nothing inside a situationship creates pressure to end it. A bad relationship ends because it is bad. A situationship is comfortable enough not to end and unsatisfying enough to cost you years, so it usually finishes for an outside reason instead of a decision.

In Nigeria there is a second reason. When family, church and friends are all counting, a woman is told, directly and indirectly, that something undefined beats nothing. That is what keeps one running for two years.

Common questions

How do I know if I am in a situationship?
It has run for months undefined, you are intimate but not introduced, plans are always last minute, you do not know if you are the only one, and you feel more anxious after seeing him rather than settled.
Is a situationship the same as a talking stage?
No. A talking stage is a short window before a decision, usually a few weeks to three months. When it runs on with no conversation about what you are, it has become a situationship.
How long do situationships last?
Often months and sometimes years, because nothing inside one creates pressure to end it. They usually end because something outside forces it.
Is this checker a diagnosis?
No. It organises what you already know into one view. Nothing here replaces the conversation, and no quiz can tell you what someone else intends.
